Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated, hardworking arborist to join our maintenance staff at the Wisconsin Country Club. This is a part-time seasonal position with flexible scheduling based on workload and seasonal needs. Typical shifts will take place Monday-Friday during daytime hours, with hours varying week to week. This position will primarily focus on identifying, assessing, and managing the trees on the property, as well as limbing and pruning work to improve tree health, safety, and playability.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify and assess trees across the property for overall health, structure, and safety concerns.
- Perform limbing, pruning, and selective tree maintenance to improve tree health and appearance.
- Remove deadwood, low-hanging limbs, and hazardous branches as needed.
- Assist in developing a tree inventory and long-term tree management plan for the property.
- Monitor trees for signs of disease, insect pressure, storm damage, or decline.
- Make recommendations regarding tree preservation, removal, or replacement.
- Support the Golf Course Superintendent in prioritizing tree work based on course playability, safety, and aesthetics.
- Operate chainsaws, pole saws, chippers, lifts, and other arboricultural equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures.
- Assist with related property improvement projects as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in arboriculture, tree care, landscaping, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of tree identification, pruning techniques, and tree health assessment.
- Ability to safely operate arboricultural tools and equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license.
